My browser says “Not secure” during setup

Why it says that

During setup the PC downloads its part straight from your Mac, over your home network, with a plain local address like your-mac.local:47901. Browsers call any page like that “Not secure” because it isn't HTTPS. Nothing comes from the internet.

What to do

• If the browser holds the download, choose Keep in its downloads list.
• Windows may say the app is unrecognised until Overtoaster is signed: More info → Run anyway.
• The installer shows a code; your Mac shows the same one before pairing. If they don't match, stop.

Rather download it from the web?

The installer will also be on overtoaster.dev. Then the PC shows a PIN instead, which you type in Pair a PC on the Mac.
