Help center › Getting started
Before you start
- A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 26.
- A Windows 11 PC with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 16, RTX 20 or newer.
- Both on the same home network. The PC on Ethernet if you can.
- Steam installed on the PC and signed in: your games come from its library.
1. On the Mac
- Drag Overtoaster to Applications and open it.
- Allow access to the local network when macOS asks: without it the Mac can't see the PC.
- Click Set up a PC. The Mac shows a short address, like
your-mac.local:47901.
2. On the PC
- Open that address in the PC's browser and click Download for Windows.
- If the browser warns that the download isn't secure, choose Keep (why).
- Run the installer. Windows asks for administrator rights once: choose Yes.
- Check the code it shows and click Install.
3. Pair
- The Mac asks whether the installer shows its code. If it does, click Yes, Pair.
- Your games appear in Overtoaster and as Mac apps in Spotlight, Launchpad and the Dock.
4. Play
Click a game. If the PC is asleep, Overtoaster wakes it first (set that up once). Programs from the PC: add them in Apps; each opens in its own Mac window.
